Imaginism

From Jane Austin: the term Imaginist.

Imaginism: The belief that because you imagine something must be true then it really is true.

I have a friend who believes that juries indict defendants, not because they find probable cause, but because they have prejudice against the defendant. He believes that is the way the judicial system works.

Another example of imaginism: Once a defendant is indicted he must be guilty. If not guilty, he must have done *something* wrong. In other words, probable cause is equated to proof beyond reasonable doubt.

Many many people believe these are attributes of the American jurisprudence.
