This is my choice of a thermostat for the farm. It was chosen over and above a Nest thermostat. I like the looks of it better. And I like the data collection features of it.
Why add it? Well, the furnace has failed at the farm and winter is setting in, so we need to have a new furnace installed. We need to be able to monitor the location, and we also need to be able to turn up the heat prior to anyone visiting the site. It takes about four hours to warm up the house and it would be nice to turn it up when leaving home, and then arriving five hours later to a nice toasty house.
I am going to be adding the story of how this smart thermostat works out over the winter. Stay tuned.
