I bought Dennis Pager’s book Still The Best Hope. He covers why leftism and Islam both fail at running a great civilization. His chapter on what makes America a great civilization is most revealing – because liberty is just the starting place and is not sufficient. Without “In God We Trust” as a moral system, liberty turns into anarchy. And this gets to the heart of why Libertarianism, stripped naked of the Judaeo-Christian heritage of America, is actually anti-American.
