By middle of March I am up to 1000 KCals basic workout in the first hour of a workout.
And, as you can see, the total workout for the week hovers around 3000 calories. This is achieved by elevating the treadmill to 15 percent slope and walking as fast as I can. This approaches 3.0 MPH. My weight has dropped by up to 6-1/2 lbs, although this varies, and of course some weight is being added due to muscle growth. The good news is cardio baseline is headed upward.
GOAL: 4000 Gym KCals per week + 8000 additional stepcount outdoors per day + weight training 2 days per week.
REMEMBER: Cardio endurance for mountain trails is the real goal. And increased health. weight loss is a plus, but is a side effect. Feeling good is more important than looking good.
